Skill Cards Meet Tennis: Champion Tennis Opens Free Mobile Trial Before Next Fest 2027

A solo-built 3D tennis roguelite: 12 zodiac rivals, 15 skills, a $2.99 one-time unlock — no ads, no gacha, no stamina.

BEIJING, CHINA, October 23, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Mnshine game studio today opened the free trial of Champion Tennis, a portrait-oriented 3D tennis game that turns every return into a skill card, on Google Play and TapTap. The full game unlocks with a single US$2.99 purchase. There are no ads, no gacha mechanics, no subscriptions and no stamina timers. A playable Steam demo is in preparation for Steam Next Fest, which runs Feb. 22-March 1, 2027; the Steam version is currently listed as Coming Soon.

The pitch is deliberately simple: tennis already has a fantasy of impossible shots. Champion Tennis makes that fantasy playable with a deck in your hand. Players swipe to move, charge and aim, then choose from a three-card hand drawn from a five-slot skill pool. Meteor, lightning, ice spike and tornado cards bend the rally in real time – and the game’s 12 zodiac-themed AI rivals answer with powers of their own. Returns are graded Clean, Assisted, Weak or Miss, so positioning and timing still decide the point.

Between matches, the cup structure adds a roguelite layer: eight cups across 33 stages, a pick-one-of-three evolution after each match, 15 permanent skills across five card categories (topspin, slice, lob, power and defense), and 12 cup-only talents that reset when the trophy is lifted. The campaign also includes eight 3D trophies, 21 cosmetic items (outfits and zodiac hats), six contacts to chat with and challenge, and 20 achievements. The game is fully playable offline, and its text is localized into 36 languages.

“Tennis games usually ask you to master a shot. We wanted to ask what happens when the shot itself is a choice you build around,” said Jiang Chuan, founder of Mnshine game studio. “The free trial is the honest version of that pitch: play the opening cup, and if the loop does not grab you, you should not pay.”

The free trial covers the tutorial and the opening cup on Google Play; the TapTap build includes the first three cups and is free with no in-app purchases. The US$2.99 unlock is a one-time, non-consumable purchase that opens the full game; pricing in other regions follows local store tiers.

Champion Tennis was developed by a solo founder working with AI tools across parts of the development workflow. That use is disclosed on the game’s Steam page. No generative AI runs at runtime, and the game does not call external AI services.
