TrainScription captures both sides of a conversation — the user’s microphone and the meeting tab audio simultaneously — and runs them through OpenAI’s Whisper AI model locally, using the browser’s own processing power. Every five seconds of audio is transcribed, converted to text, and then permanently discarded from memory. The audio is never written to the user’s hard drive. It simply ceases to exist.
“Most people assume transcription means someone, somewhere, is holding onto their audio,” said Terrance Henry, the tool’s developer and an Elyria native. “With TrainScription, you end the session with a transcript and nothing else. The audio is gone. You were a witness to what was said — this is no different than taking notes. Except the notes don’t require you to trust a cloud server with your conversation.”

“The AI would hear a character’s name and produce something completely unrecognizable,” Henry said. “I started building a fix for my specific problem, and somewhere in the middle of building it I realized lawyers have the same problem with Latin legal terms, doctors have it with medication names, engineers have it with technical acronyms. My narrow use case was actually a mirror of something universal.”
The result is TrainScription’s defining feature: the Phonetic Brain. When the AI mishears a word, the user highlights the error, types the correct spelling once, and the system permanently learns that correction — applying it to every future transcript automatically, before the text ever reaches the screen. The Brain is portable, exportable, and grows more accurate with every session.
