WASHINGTON, Sept. 23, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — The National Institute of Building Sciences (NIBS) is pleased to announce that George Guszcza, NIBS President and Chief Executive Officer, has been appointed to the National Construction Safety Team Advisory Committee (NCSTAC). This federal advisory committee provides guidance to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) on carrying out its responsibilities under the National Construction Safety Team (NCST) Act, which authorizes investigations of building failures that result in substantial loss of life or pose significant threats to public safety. The committee’s work helps inform recommendations that improve building practices, codes, standards, and public safety nationwide.

 Dr. Guszcza leads America’s independent, non-partisan, 501c(3), created by Congress to be the nation’s authoritative source of findings and recommendations that advance innovation across our built environment, promote and protect the national interest, and bring together the public and private sectors of the economy for the benefit of all communities across the nation.  Throughout his career, he has held senior leadership positions in both the public and private sectors and has worked extensively on disaster recovery, infrastructure resilience, healthcare facilities, and emergency response initiatives.
