NativState Accelerates Growth and Expands Southeast Footprint with Issuance of Credits from Three New Carbon Projects

NativState, a forest carbon developer partnering with small private landowners across the U.S. Southeast, today announced the recent issuance of three new carbon projects issued under the ACR IFM 2.1 methodology. The news follows the strategic acquisition of Neeley Forestry Service, a respected forestry and land management firm serving landowners across Arkansas and Louisiana, in June.

Together, the milestones strengthen NativState’s ability to deliver meaningful conservation and economic benefits to private landowners through an integrated, full-service model that combines carbon development with local forestry expertise and long-term land management.

“The new project issuance under ACR 2.1 is a testament to our ability to issue credits at scale under the latest methodologies and bring reliable supply to the market,” said Stuart Allen, CEO of NativState. “This continued momentum and expansion across the Southeast reflect our commitment to strengthening our on-the-ground capabilities and delivering long-term value to private landowners through responsible forest stewardship.”

New Carbon Credit Issuances Demonstrate Continued Growth and Market Demand

NativState has built a strong track record as a forest carbon developer focused on working forests in the U.S. ‘Timber Basket,’ a region with genuine harvest pressure. To date, the company has enrolled more than 800,000 acres of land across this region.

Spanning bottomland forests, wetlands ecosystems, and mixed broadleaf forests, the newly issued projects represent over 1.7 million credits at initial issuance encompassing over 65,000 acres of sustainably managed forestland. Together, they demonstrate NativState’s ability to consistently develop forest carbon projects at scale within biodiverse regions while creating meaningful economic opportunities for small landowners. These three projects bring the total number of issuances to nine across the NativState portfolio.

A significant portion of the credits have already been committed through long-term offtake agreements, reflecting sustained market demand and the strength of NativState’s buyer network.

The three new projects were developed under ACR IFM 2.1 and the credits will carry CCP labels. They include:

  • Bottomland Forests of the Lower Mississippi Valley (ACR 1074). One of the most geographically diverse and biodiverse projects in NativState’s portfolio, this project spans more than 27K acres across 46 landowner sites. It encompasses High Conservation Value (HCV) forests and habitats supporting rare species, old growth, and rare natural communities across Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Missouri.

  • Bottomland Forests of the Louisiana Mississippi River Delta (ACR 1063): Encompassing 28 landowner sites and more than 24K acres across Louisiana and Mississippi, the project lies in one of the country’s most biologically rich wetland ecosystems. It provides critical habitat for migratory birds, black bears, amphibians, fish, and hundreds of native plant species and plays a vital role in improving water quality, reducing flood impacts, and sustaining wildlife corridors.

  • The Mixed Broadleaf Forests of the Western Tennessee Plains to the Highland Rim (ACR 956). The project aggregates more than 13K acres of land owned primarily by small, private landowners. Located within the Tennessee River Basin – one of North America’s most biologically diverse river systems – the project delivers significant climate and conservation benefits through long-term carbon sequestration and the sustainable management of native forests.

“We are pleased to see ACR’s Improved Forest Management methodology used by so many family woodland owners as a way to enhance and conserve their forests,” said Dr. Kurt Krapfl, Director of Forestry at ACR. “ACR’s IFM methodology reinforces the highest standards of integrity and consistency while supporting measurable climate outcomes and long-term opportunity for local landowners. NativState’s work is a testament to the momentum and growing scale of the carbon market.”

NativState Acquires Neeley Forestry Service to Deepen Expertise for Long-Term Landowner Partnership Model

In June of this year, NativState completed the acquisition of Neeley Forestry Service. Building on NativState’s project growth, the integration of Neeley’s proven forestry expertise and management capabilities strengthens the company’s ability to serve as a trusted, long-term operating partner to landowners. The expanded model provides landowners with access to carbon markets as well as ongoing sustainable forestry management, wildlife management, recreational leasing, land acquisition and sales, real estate services, and land management support.

About NativState

NativState LLC is a forest carbon developer partnering with small private landowners in the U.S. Southeast. Working in the heart of the U.S. timber basket, NativState serves as a long-term operating partner for landowners as they generate income from carbon by managing working forests for long-term stewardship, habitat, and resilience. The company aggregates landowners at scale, assumes long-term project responsibility, and delivers credits through a vertically integrated model spanning landowner engagement, forestry, geospatial analysis, carbon modeling, verification support, and ongoing project management. For buyers, that creates scalable supply grounded in real market conditions and genuine harvest pressure; for landowners, it creates a practical alternative to more aggressive timber harvesting.
