Moritt Hock & Hamroff, a New York-headquartered commercial law firm, today announced that Parag Parekh has joined the firm as a partner in its expanding Condominium & Cooperative Services (“Condo & Co-Op”) practice. He will be based in the firm’s Midtown Manhattan office, led by Partner David Fitzhenry.
“Moritt Hock & Hamroff is recognized as having one of the premier Condo & Co-Op practices in New York, led by a highly respected team, and it was the right choice for the next phase of my career,” said Parekh. “I’m excited to join the firm and help contribute to its continued success.”
Previously a partner at Schwartz Sladkus Reich Greenberg Atlas, Parekh brings more than 15 years of experience advising boards and representing developers, purchasers, sellers, and investors in commercial and residential real estate matters. He began his career as an assistant attorney in the Real Estate Finance Bureau of the New York State Attorney General’s Office.
“Parag’s experience from private practice and his unique perspective from working in the Attorney General’s Office will significantly bolster our capabilities,” said Anthony Ficara, Chair of the Condo & Co-Op practice at Moritt Hock & Hamroff. “As New York City stands on the cusp of a residential housing boom, and boards navigate compliance obligations under the ever-changing landscape of new laws and regulations, his insights and expertise will ensure we can meet growing client demands.”
The Condo & Co-Op group is one of the firm’s largest practice areas. Serving a growing roster of New York City clients, the team advises co-op and condominium boards, developers, unit owners, tenants, and lenders on a wide variety of matters, including construction contracts, litigation, financings, and regulatory filings. Its attorneys also hold leadership roles in both state and local bar associations, as well as regional and national real estate organizations including the Construction Law Society of America and the American College of Real Estate Lawyers.
“Our Condo & Co-Op practice has built strong momentum over the past several years, and Parag’s arrival further strengthens our partner bench,” said Michael Cardello, Managing Partner at Moritt Hock & Hamroff. “He is an outstanding addition to the firm and another example of top-tier talent choosing Moritt Hock & Hamroff.”
